Food, Inc :: August 12th, 2009
A quick note today to let everyone know that the amazing and eye-opening movie, “Food, Inc.” is leaving the Little Theatre on Thursday! A must see movie for sure and one that McKay’s Photography sponsored during the High Falls Film Festival. I absolutely loved this documentarty about the food industry. Unlike a lot of documentaries, which just make you feel like there is nothing you can really do to help whatever plight… This movie is realistic, focused and inspiring! A well planned, executed and filmed movie about a subject that I hold very dear.
For those clients of mine who know that I am vegetartian and eco-friendly… this movie will give you a small taste of why I feel so strongly about what I do with my life. And for those of you who don’t care… See the movie anyway! Please at least be informed about your choices at the supermarket. You won’t regret it. The movie is more about the business of food, and it resonates with me because I run my business in the model they recommend… with thought and care about my imprint on this earth and on the people in my life.

Thank you for letting me know about this amazing movie. I never heard of this documentary before I read your post. As a dairy farmer’s daughter, farming has been an important issue to me as it reminds me of home. I realize the struggle that farmers are under and it just keeps getting worse. I didn’t realize how far these problems spread throughout the farmers around the country and the world.
I will be going grocery shopping tonight as well as the farmers market tomorrow and I know my shopping list will change dramatically now that I have seen this movie and understand more of these issues with the food industry. I thought the organic products were just another way to get you to spend more money at the grocery store. But now I will be looking for that organic label and hopefully feel safer that I know what I am eating.
