Stacy & Jim’s Wedding at Artisan Works  :: June 22nd, 2009

Even with the monsoon that we endured on Saturday, the party prevailed! Stacy and Jim are too laid back to let bad weather rain on their parade! Stacy and Jim were married at St. Christopher’s Church in Chili. It was my first time to photograph a wedding there, and I can say that I love love love working there. The Deacon let me do anything I want, even use flash. That was a refreshing change since most churches don’t let us inside anymore! I don’t need flash, however it is nice to be able to use a variety of tools to get the job done. Lucky for us, everything was already planned to be held indoors, so we did all of the formal family images at the church with the help of my assistant, Rachel. Everything went nice and smooth and we were finished with the church about 45 minutes early! I was happy about that, since it gave us even more time to run around Artisan Works before the wedding reception. If you haven’t been to Artisan Works yet, what are you waiting for?? That place rocks and I love working there. The Bridal Party and I ran around a lot of the rooms and everyone was in sensory overload. We took over the Fire House for a while and the guys had a LOT of fun playing pool and relaxing. After that, we all went upstairs to the Japanese Dining Room and I was laughing my head off because no one realized they could put their feet under the table! How did they not know that?? The guys practiced their best Zen poses and the girls sat around laughing. Even though the Bridal Party would have let me keep taking pictures of them all night, I let them go and I focused on the Bride and Groom. We hung around for a few romantic shots, which were actually hard to get because Jim & Stacy were too busy taking in all of the amazing photography upstairs. This makes me happy. Happy to have a couple who loves art and artists and who appreciate visual media. Tim and Victoria were awesome coordinators as usual and they put on an amazingly perfect evening for us at AW yet again! They really do a great job and are never ever bossy or in the way, which I appreciate. The reception went off without a hitch and I was absolutely amazed at how packed the dance floor was! Usually at AW, guests roam the halls looking at art and can’t get back to the dance floor. Not at this wedding! EVERYONE was on the dance floor. For HOURS. At some point I just had to force myself to stop taking pictures of the mayhem. It was so fun to watch and the DJ played the best music. Lots of fun 80s & 90s stuff, like Guns N Roses and Bon Jovi. Good times! The desserts were from the ever amazing Cheesy Eddies in the South Wedge. Yummy carrot cake and pumpkin cheesecake! Congratulations Jim & Stacy and thank you again for hiring me as your wedding photographer! And for also letting me just do my thing! I hope you love the images and enjoyed having me be such a big part of your wedding day.

Also it was too funny when one of my friends noticed they saw a familiar face at Ben and Kacey’s wedding (friends of ours had a double wedding weekend)-and of course amazing photos there too!
