GRPP Meeting :: February 12th, 2009
This year, I have been voted in as the Program Chair for GRPP and so I have the task of filling each month’s meeting with educational and informative speakers. This year looks to be a great year for us, as we have in our budget to hire some real talent! The meetings are free to members this year, which is another issue that I pushed for last year.
Wednesday evening was the monthly meeting for the Greater Rochester Professional Photographers. My good friend, Pat Luke, spoke about all of his nifty creations that were made to use in his home based studio. With the economy hitting everyone really hard and Photographers trying to save money so we don’t need to raise prices, Pat shared his solutions to buying expensive gear by making a lot of things himself. We call him MacGyver and boy is he ever! Everything is also multi-function, so as to save space!
This meeting had a record turn out, and we had quite a few new faces show up, which made me really happy. We have brought back print critique and good old fashioned networking at the beginning of each meeting. Top Flight Pro Labs even donated several gift certificates for us to raffle during the night! A special thanks to Booksmart Studio for hosting our meetings each month! It was a great night!
