Returned from the land of Sun! :: January 15th, 2009
Well, the rest of Sedona was pretty much the same… chasing sunrises and sunsets and hiking in between! It was seriously difficult to leave for the conference in Phoenix! Partially because Sedona was so awesome, and partially because I was at this conference last year, I didn’t get a lot out of the speakers. I was really restless sitting in those chairs all day, indoors, after hiking in the sun. The best part about Phoenix was the mexican food. Other than that, not much to report. I did a lot of networking, ran into a Photographer who used to live in Rochester, and found potential speakers for the Greater Rochester Professional Photographers (I am Program Chair this year). Twice in 24 hours, people told me they learned all they wanted to from the conference just by talking to me for 10 minutes! Well then, where is my speaker fee? Ha. Just kidding. However, that was sort of the problem… I am doing most of the things these speakers were saying works for them, just on a smaller scale. Business is good, but I feel like I haven’t exploded yet. Maybe if I work a little harder… Maybe when my website is finished in march… Maybe I need to promote myself even more. All I know is that I am happy, I am booking and my mortgage is paid. There is something to be said for loving what you do and feeling blessed every day. So long as the mortgage is paid, I’m happy enough!
Pat and I flew back on Wednesday and went straight to the January meeting for GRPP. Lots to go over, especially since I am Programs. It is a great group of Photographers and we all went to Salena’s afterwards for a drink to celebrate the end of a fabulous year and to ring in the new year to come.
